Best of Blender: The Interactive Entertainment Magazine, is an entertainment CD-ROM that was released in September 1996 by Dennis Publishing.
Features[]
The Best of Blender CD-ROM is a digital compilation of content from Blender magazine, containing interviews with Iggy Pop, Tori Amos, and Traci Lords. It also included a QuickTime VR tour with The Beastie Boys, a copy of America Online, and over 25 film and music reviews.
Release status[]
The CD-ROM was labeled as being compatible with Macintosh, Power Macintosh, and Pippin. However, it was not properly "Pippinized" to boot from any Pippin console.[1] The disk contains a system folder that appears to be directly copied from the November 1996 Pippin SDK CD-ROM, but the boot blocks and authentication are not correctly configured for startup.[2]

- ↑ Sadly, it turns out this disk image won't boot on any Pippin console, even with dev ROMs or @ablitter's ingenious #PippinKickstart. The authentication is zeroed out, the boot blocks are incorrectly configured, and extra RAM is required. At least it can be read by classic Mac. by Pippin @WORLD & Atmark, Twitter. 2020-06-23.
- ↑ If the disk image is rebuilt with correctly configured boot blocks, then perhaps it may load on a dev Pippin with extra RAM. The disk is intriguing as it contains a full Finder (which would have been rejected by Apple) and "AppleShare 3.5, Pippin 1.0" from the 11/96 SDK CD. by Pippin @WORLD & Atmark, Twitter. 2020-06-23.
