Commander Blood is a CD-ROM-based science fiction adventure game that had been announced for the Pippin platform.[1]
Development[]
Commander Blood follows the 1988 video game Captain Blood from Exxos, a developer within French publisher ERE Informatique.[2] In 1990, the Exxos team left ERE to form Cryo Interactive, which developed Commander Blood.[3]
Release status[]
Commander Blood was released in Europe for MS-DOS and Macintosh by Microfolie's Editions in 1994.[4] The sequel, Big Bug Bang: Le Retour de Commander Blood was released in Canada and France by Microfolie's Editions in 1996.[5] The French title of the latter translates to The Return of Commander Blood.[6] The in-game opening and end title screens also identify the sequel as Commander BLOOD Version 2.0 and Commander Blood 2.[7]
"Pippinized" versions for the upcoming KMP 2000 console had been announced by Katz Media in September 1996,[1] but were never released.[8]
