The Pippin Expansion Unit is an expansion dock that had been announced for the Katz Media Player 2000 console.[1]
Product history[]
On May 22 at Marché international des Inforoutes et du Multimédia '97, Arborescence announced a partnership with Katz Media to develop and market a "Arborescence Network Centric computer" for Canadian consumers who did not have internet access.[2] A key part of the Arborescence/Katz Media Pippin package would have been the first "combo" Pippin expansion docks, with a choice of floppy drive, ethernet and/or modem through the PCI bus. Primetech Electronics prototyped the dock for the KMP 2000.[1] However, it was not publicly released.[3]
