WebViewer is a brand name of CD-ROM-based browser suites that were bundled with Pippin Atmark consoles sold in Japan.

Features[]

Web browsing performance was advertised as being improved through Microsoft Internet Explorer's fast image loading. However, an 8MB memory module is required to launch and about 60KB of the console's flash memory will be used.[1][2] Mail functionality is not available because POP its settings cannot be modified.[3][4]

Releases[]

Two versions of WebViewer were released in 1997: BDB-026 included Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 for Macintosh;[5] BDB-033 included Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and J-DATA's barcode software with Netcom NetCruiser 3.0.[6]
